Overfishing
National Geographic
Good sources of protein are usually very expensive and people have found a cheaper resource for protein, fish. Having fish is a good thing but we are taking to far. This article says "In 2003, a scientific report estimated that industrial fishing had reduced the number of large ocean fish to just 10 percent of their pre-industrial population." We are losing more and more fish due to our over fishing. This picture shows a great number of large tune being caught for a sushi store in japan but it's only sushi, it's also places like supermarkets, fast food places etc.
This is important to me because I care for our sea life and if this keeps going on our fish will soon become extinct. I can connect to this because I sometimes go fishing with my grandpa and although when we catch fish we throw them back in the ocean I see some people catch and keep up to 30-40 fish.
The next step for us to solve this problem is for us to enforcement of laws governing catches, but this still isn't enough we must be responsible for our selves and not illegally fish.
