Forget Polar Bears — Warming Will Hit the Tropics First
We have a big problem at hand and that is Global Warming. Your probably thinking about polar bears when you hear "Global Warming" but this has to do with the tropics. This article talks about the many Rainforests that will soon deal with global Warming. This article says "animals and plants living close to the equator expect their homes to stay the same pretty much year-round. Just a little nudge, warmer temperatures, less rainfall, will throw these ecosystems out of whack". Then again we don't know for sure to what degree climate change can actually effect them.
I chose this article is because global warming has been an issue for very long and knowing that it is happening in the rainforests interests me. I can connect to this because I wrote an essay on the rainforests back in 6th grade.
This is important because although we don't know to what degree this can hurt them, we can't take any chances. We must take actions to stopping global warming 1 step at a time. There are many solutions for example, riding your bike to school/work. The little steps can save the life's of many types of rain forest animals including the ones in the water.
