New species of 'walking' shark discovered
A new species of sharks were discovered off the coast of Ternate island, near Halmahera, in the Indonesian archipelago of Muluku. This species was named the Hemiscyllium halmahera or Walking shark. This species was discovered by Biologist Dr. Gerald Allen. The walking shark is among the Bamboo sharks but is very different from them and other fish. Instead of swimming this shark walks on the sea floor.
I chose this article because I can connect to it since I did a paper on them last year and found some pretty cool and interesting things about them. Knowing about unknown animals like the Walking shark is important to know because learning about 1 species leads to another. We can determine more species by learning about another and gain more knowledge about the things around our world.
What's next? What's next is we look into this shark more to find more information and details to have enough knowledge on the animal. After that try and use the info on these sharks to find more unknown things that are in our ocean. You never know what we could find.
